Are you planning on hosting a home preschool graduation ceremony for your little one who is heading off to kindergarten in a few short months??
We did, and my son LOVED it! It made him feel so special to be recognized and really got him excited about starting kindergarten.
Here's a few tips from our experience, that I hope help yours go as smooth as possible!

We went pretty simple with this and just got some balloons, streamers, festive table cover and napkins, and a banner all from the Dollar Store. This really helped make it look like a special event!
Even if you don't plan on leaving the house, this is a great chance to get to practice dressing up for something important! Of course, you and your family can decide if you all want to get dressed up.
I mean, we celebrate most everything with cake sooo, it seemed natural to us to have a cake at our preschool graduation ceremony ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
A great way to elevate the experience and make it official, is with a great soundtrack! We just went on to YouTube and played a classic graduation song โPomp and Circumstanceโ, which you can find HERE. You can also find it on Apple Music or Spotify under Sir Edward Elgar โPomp and Circumstanceโ.
This is a great time to tell your child just how proud of them you really are! Of course this one is totally optional, but since my husband and I own a DJ company we have some old microphones our son uses to play with, and we thought they would work perfectly to welcome our son โto the stageโ where we proceeded to instill in him words of wisdom and praise. He LOVED it ๐
These can absolutely make the experience feel official, help your child get into the graduate character, and come in an entire set for just a little over $20! You can find them HERE.
We used ours to record the entire ceremony, and took some family pictures after. We used ours similar to this one HERE.
There are plenty of templates available on Pinterest and Etsy, however I actually just went to Canva.com to create a more personalized version for our son.
Who will you invite? Is it going to be just a small ceremony with immediate family? Will extended family come? Friends? Are there other children in the neighborhood who might enjoy participating as well? Think about who you would like to attend, figure out how you will invite them, and make sure to give them plenty of notice before the event.
Again, this is completely optional as this special ceremony is already quite a treat! We were about a month into quarantine when we held our son's ceremony so ya, we got a big toy in hopes of keeping everyone occupied for a few days, which totally worked!
Now the best part is, you can choose to do your ceremony any time before school starts, so don't feel like you have to rush to get this memorable experience all figured out!
I wish you the best of luck in your planning and remember, most importantly, to take LOTS of pictures! These years really do fly by!
